Marion County VINE Became IVSS

Marion County calls its notification program the Texas Statewide Automated Victim Notification System, or SAVNS. The Sheriff’s official page links residents to IVSS Counties. Texas moved the county-level legacy VINE service to IVSS on September 1, 2025. That change matters because an old search result for “VINELink Marion County” may lead readers to instructions that no longer match the current Texas portal.

Existing legacy registrations transferred. Telephone and text notices tied to those registrations were expected to continue, though the first account login may require a password update. Marion County IVSS Coverage

Marion County reports that its SAVNS layer receives information through interfaces with county jails and courts. It can notify a registrant when a named person is released from jail, transferred to another facility, dies, or escapes. It also covers certain court events that are set or changed. This is broader than a simple release-date lookup, but it is not a permanent archive of every release record.

The county and state channels must be kept separate. For a person held at Marion County Jail, use IVSS Counties and the jail record. For someone in a Texas Department of Criminal Justice facility, Marion County directs custody, parole, or mandatory-supervision notification questions to TDCJ Victim Services at 800-848-4284 or victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov. A person may move from the county jail to TDCJ, but the county alert does not replace the state-prison record.

A county roster result means current display in the jail system. An IVSS event can indicate that custody changed. Neither fact alone proves the legal reason. The Marion County jail release or transfer entry records what the custodian did, while a clerk’s order or judgment can show what happened in court.

Search One Marion County Person

Use enough identifying information to separate people with similar names. IVSS accepts more than a full-name search, which is useful when spelling, aliases, or reversed name order create uncertainty.

1. Open the official IVSS Counties portal from the Marion County Sheriff’s page.
2. Enter the full name. The portal also permits partial first and last names where instructed.
3. If known, search with a DOC ID, Texas SID, Jail ID, or permanent booking number. Use an identifier only in its matching field.

6. Open the correct result and read the custody or supervision status before choosing notification options.

What a Marion IVSS Result Shows

Available fields depend on the source agency and status. Treat every result as a time-sensitive view, not as a full court or corrections file.

IVSS is event-notification infrastructure. It does not promise that a released person will remain searchable. A saved release message can provide timely notice, but the Marion County jail register, booking-out record, or release or transfer order supplies durable confirmation. Register Marion County Release Alerts

Notification may be requested with or without creating an account. Available delivery methods can include text, telephone, email, or TTY. Choose more than one method when offered, and keep contact details current.

2. Choose the notification control for that record and select the event or events offered.
3. Choose text, telephone, email, or TTY where available.

6. Save the confirmation information and use IVSS support to test or update contact details when needed.

At research time, the separate online account-creation screen stated that account creation was temporarily unavailable. That volatile status can change. The live fallback is IVSS support at 866-268-8959, not an unofficial registration service. Registration is useful for timely notice, but it should not be the only plan for a safety concern or a time-critical court matter.

Current IVSS Confirmation, Not PIN

Older Texas VINE instructions often describe a four-digit personal identification number for telephone alerts. That PIN belongs to the legacy VINE telephone workflow. Current IVSS pages do not publish the four-digit PIN as a required step for a new registration. New users should follow the confirmation process displayed by the current portal instead of inventing or expecting a PIN prompt.

A carried-over legacy telephone registration may still ask for its existing PIN. In that narrow situation, follow the prompts on the known registration or contact IVSS support. Do not disclose a PIN to an unsolicited caller. This distinction preserves older registrations without mislabeling an old workflow as the rule for every new Marion County IVSS alert.

Marion Alerts Cover Transfers Too

The Sheriff’s official page places the county notification layer directly beside its custody resources. That local placement is important. Marion County SAVNS can report a release or transfer, along with death, escape, and court-event changes. A transfer alert means the person may remain confined elsewhere. It must not be described as return to the community.

If the event identifies TDCJ, continue with statewide offender information. If it identifies BOP or a federal handoff, use the Federal Bureau of Prisons path. When it identifies ICE, use the ICE detention and ERO path. No official source reviewed identifies Marion County Jail as an ICE detention facility, so immigration search is a receiving-agency fallback rather than the default.

This release-versus-transfer distinction also explains why disappearance from the current Marion County roster is ambiguous. Confirm Marion County IVSS Alerts

IVSS says it is not an official record and disclaims guarantees of accuracy, timeliness, and completeness. Feeds can be delayed. Locations may be suppressed, and a person can disappear from search after custody ends. An existing registration can remain and reactivate if the person later returns to custody. Save each event message with the date received, but verify it through the originating office.

For TDCJ custody, use TDCJ offender information and Victim Services. For federal prison custody, IVSS and the county roster are the wrong locators. Use BOP. No notification system should be treated as a guarantee of personal safety, and no estimated or scheduled date should be treated as proof of actual departure.
